Rules FAQ

  • If the text box of Martial Law is blanked at any point (for instance, by Brother's Robes), it will become illegally attached and will get discarded. This happens because it loses the play permission of being allowed to be attached to a location rather than a character. On the other hand, assaulting (or otherwise blanking) attached location will not cause Martial Law to become illegally attached.

  • The "cannot stand" applies to the standing phase as well as any card abilities that could stand attached location (for instance, Ser Eldon Estermont).

  • Martial Law does not prevent a standing location from kneeling.

  • In a Melee game, attached location can stand if its controller has won a challenge against any opponent. It does not have to be against the player who controls Martial Law.

  • If you win a challenge, you can immediately use cards like Harry the Heir or Legacy of the Watch to stand the location during that same challenge.
