Rules FAQ

  • The cardtype is checked after the card enters your discard pile. If a card like Risen from the Sea enters your discard pile after it was in play as an attachment, it does not count as an attachment entering your discard pile.

  • This event shares the reaction window with reactions to the effect or ability that caused the card to enter the discard pile (for instance, reactions to a card being discarded from play, pillaged, discarded for reserve, etc.). The first player has the first option to trigger a reaction in any reaction window. If the card you are reacting to is no longer in the discard pile for some reason, Widow's Ford cannot find it in a different area, so it cannot be played.

  • If the card you place in shadows has the printed shadow keyword, it will end up having two instances of the shadow keyword while it is in shadows, possibly with different costs. When that card is brought out of shadows, you may choose which instance of the shadow keyword is used.

  • If the card's printed cost is X, it will gain shadow (0) while it is in shadows. If the card does not have a printed cost (for instance, A Pinch of Powder), it will also gain shadow (0).
