Hi everyone! This is the deck with which I won Late Summer Feast (a 76 players regional) and Ben Fox won Galway's Regional (he changed 3-4 cards I think).
https://thejoustingpavilion.com/tournaments/5484
The deck was born in a phone call between me and Valerio: after I won Vignola’s regional I wanted to build another alliance Qohor deck so we were discussing about a Dany Voltron. He was telling me that Silver Steed was a trigger for gaining renown so was very good option for the agenda when I had a breakthrough: “I bet that since it’s unique they didn’t put a limit on it, can you check?” - 20 seconds of silence - “It has no limits………” he told me - “I think we just found a bug” :D.
We did.
The first version ran double summons and heavily relied on Dany. After some games I noticed that:
a) she was not enough and the deck was too fragile
b) summons was bad for several reasons: gold, 10 cards over 75, initiative
With the possibility to seek for oathkeeper the best way to have Dany on board turn 2 is to flood the board T1 and trigger oathkeeper. I was ALWAYS able to do it during the tournament. With Randyll 3x, Khal drogo 3x, Breaker of chains 3x and Tokar the task is pretty simple. Renly’s ride can also help.
Game plan A is to play Dany and close in one turn: always leave challenges unopposed unless you need to oppose to win: the more power your opponent has the easier it will be to go X-15 in one turn. Since it’s not solid to rely on a single character for several reason, game plan B is to play a more midrangish game with Khal Drogo and the other Dothraki (Irri and Jiqui), and use the steed for a surprise win. Randyll also helps in putting some pressure, but in a Breaking Ties heavy meta he’s more a reset bait than a reliable win condition. Putting oathkeeper on him to stand him is very efficient and he really helps winning challenges early game.
So, how to get to 15 power in one turn? The “combo” needs some standing effects and at least 3-4 attachments on the board. Win pow with dany or a dothraki, “summon” silver steed on her/him, take renown, stand her/him, sacrifice the Steed and repeat. Jhiqui also has no limits (another “problem” imo) so if Dany is not blanked you have steam for her to trigger every challenge.
The agenda is crucial here:
- seek for oathkeeper to get your key character
- enable additional challenges with mother of dragons and other stuff
- raise strength and enable standing effects with breaker of chains
- protect your characters with bodyguard
- remove opponent’s threats with blessed by the maiden, milk and seized
The mother of dragons + breaker of chains interactions is crazy good, and you can use 2 mother of dragons in one turn swapping for another 2 cost attachment and seeking the other copy after. Beggar king enables a wild turn against control decks thanks to King in the north. Oathkeeper is also good late game to search for Jhiqui or a standing effect to put into play with breaker of chains and close the game.
As always I want to thank all my friends that helped me speedtesting this deck, and who trusted it and bring it to a tournament like Ben and Darren (who was less lucky than us). A special thank is deserved to Valerio for striking the spark of this monster.
One last consideration: of course the deck has specific weaknesses (even more if you build to beat it) but it’s also true that it needs only one turn to win. In some games the opponent was just watching my challenge phase in a mix of fascination and powerlessness which did remind me of combo somehow, so I fear that it could be a bit NPE if this deck becomes widely played, when the surpise factor and the fascinating part will disappear.
It’s not easy to properly switch from an attachment to another in order to maximize the overall points so maybe this won’t see that much play, or on the other hand countermeasures will be put into decks to counter this agenda in general.
But if it’s not the case, I think that a “Max 1 per phase” on the Silver Steed could be a good errata, since I believe it was not intended to trigger 3 times in a single turn. That’s all for now, thanks for reading and as always feel free to ask for question, I will do my best to answer as soon as I can!

** IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION ****
Since I think that the deck's description made a bit of confusion, I wanted to clarify that THIS IS NOT A COMBO DECK.
I used the word combo meaning a combination of cards. It happened that I won turn 2 in some games (turn 1 once) but it happens rarely.
The combo decks we saw previously did spend a whole turn seeking for combo pieces (which were always the same) and then trigger the combo to win.
Even if there is a pattern here, which is to do a burst of multiple challenges in one phase, you will need to play the "normal" game and to solve a different "puzzle" every game in order to reach 15 powers. You will have a lot of arrow in your quiver, which ones to choose will be up to you.
I wanted to clarify this for 2 reasons:
- I don't want combo players to try this and be disappointed, seeking for a pattern to follow in every game. This deck has not enough draw to do so. Every game will be different, and you will win games using the steed only once, or never.
- I started to hear about people already being scared of a new combo infesting the meta. This is not the case, trust me.
This deck is basically a toolbox deck which can suddently accelerate for a surprise or unexpected win. I'm not even sure if I would call this rush, since not every game you will have the possibility to rush (no rush plots, no rush events, no rush agenda).
Again, thanks for reading this addendum.
P.S: current records are 0-15 turn 1 and 0-19 turn 2, so if someone of you is able to beat them please post it in the comments with screenshots… :D

Hi Rabs! Not sure I understand the question... What about super attrition decks scares you? |
|
Brilliant once again. Thanks Nicolo for existing! |
Yeah that was my guess as well, but I wanted to understand which threats was him scared about, since with king in the north, barring the gates and milk on demand varys is never a problem. ;) |
Thanks |
It’s a very interesting deck. Congrats! P.S. You not added Qohor agenda in that list. |
Congratulations. I never thought someone would ask for Silver Steed to Errata’d. |
You are great, my friend! Always one step ahead. |

I wrote an addendum to the description of the deck for those who were already frightened by a new "combo" deck... :D I also want to name the guys that helped me in building and tuning the deck: besides Ben and Darren, Aureliano aka Venser and Daniele aka DMage did test the deck and are still playing it online, so if you play against them please note that they are note netdeckers, they were involved in the deck's development. :P Last, but not least, credits for the deck's name go to Daniel Correas: brilliant name mate, really! :D |
Credit to cagliostro88. He gave you an important coke during the tournament. Ahahhaha Great nic, one of the best deckbuilder and player in the world!!! |
Nimer, you glorious bastard!! |
|
What, why is jhiqui allowed to put your whole hand down for whatever power.... |

I was wondering where all the burn was, and then I found it: "I don't want combo players to try this and be disappointed, seeking for a pattern to follow in every game." BURN! |
Amazing deck! My main question though is why Randyl? With so few STR pumps and inconsistency over finding them, surely KOF (Core) would be a better addition? |
|

Congratulations |

@Nimer When you said "The mother of dragons + breaker of chains interactions is crazy good" did you mean that having Dany participate in the challenge using the mother of dragons triggers breaker of chains? I don't think it does. |
|
My changes to the deck for Galway were -1 Irri, -1 Milk, +1 Mhysa, +1 Jorah. I was also gonna take out Barring the Gates for Beyond Reproach, but changed my mind at the last minute. |
magnifico |
Congratulations Another brilliant build with Qohor, you are definitely an impressive builder, and a great player ! I'm glad to see some use for Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons . Have you ever consider Ghiscari Elite ? It could be useful to have some recursion for the attachements you have only one copy of. |
|
Do you think this deck could be rebuilt with Queensguard? |
Hey! Not sure about Queensguard since it needs other 3 costed attachments and only one would be Seal. For sure meereense market is perfect for the deck! :P |
Great abuse of the steed indeed. Congrats for winning again with the Goat!! I see the deck is a weak against super attrition decks (your draw relies on Dany with rhaegar and jhiqui): Have you faced super attrition decks in your testing? If so, how did it go? Nimer, aka as The Goat God :D
