The strategy is simple. Go Second. Defend all challenges with a slew of cheap characters. Get in a few challenges. Kneel the Wall. Win Dominance.
KEY CARDS:
The Wall, Castle Black, Confinement, and Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken
DECK COMPONENTS:
SETUP
Put out as many cards as possible. Drawing into more characters to flood the board is tremendous for this deck. (Possible to reach 6, even a 7-card setup)
ECONOMY
Get The Roseroad early to marshal all your weenies, and The Kingsroad to get out your big guns. A Meager Contribution is there for that 1 extra gold you need for Confinement. (Fuck you, Asha Greyjoy)
DRAW ENGINE
With Messenger Raven and Samwell Tarly, you're able to fill your hand with more weenies to replenish those you lost defending and Challenges. The added reserve bonus brought about by The Iron Throne and Sam will allow you to draw every turn without the disadvantage of discarding down to reserve. Oh yeah, Littlefinger.
ICON/CHALLENGE MANIPULATION
Maester Caleotte, Confinement, and Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken are also key to defending as it manipulates icons and disperses challenges you know you can't defend.
STRENGTH/DEFENSE BUFF
Of course, the stars are The Wall and Castle Black. Castle Black technically allows you to get a free defense (because of the stand) with +2 STR on top. You not only defend and stand, but you could actually win an otherwise lost challenge. And of course, +1 to every character and the chance to gain +2 for just defending? The Wall reeks of Value.
THE DEFENDERS
The rest of the characters are a mixture of cost-effective bicons, tricons, and cheap weenies that serve as both defenders and claim soak. And when the board is about to lose a key character, enter Savior Aemon.
PLOTS:
Filthy Accusations (x2) - Kneel those Stealth and Renowns.
Building Orders - Find The Wall, Castle Black, Longclaw or that much needed Roseroad
Calling the Banners - Because no Lords and Ladies.
Marched to the Wall, Wildfire Assault, Calm Over Westeros are all pretty basic plots.
DOES IT WIN?
Yes, I've won games with it, but also lost a few (around 8-5). It's not yet consistent. There are still lots of issues such as:
ECONOMY. A Meager Contribution is not really that good. I hope gets a reducer location soon.
STEALTH characters (Will!), or the lack thereof, as Benjen Stark is not enough.
It's also weak against Hyperkneel decks and loses to most decks with many Renown characters.
BUT, it's a lot of fun to play because of it's unusual tactic. Plus, the feel of always being the underdog and winning without big 6- and 7-costers make winning much more satisfying.
Hit me with comments, be harsh, it will help me improve this build. And if you want something new to play, go try this out. :)
TL;DR: Avoid unopposed with slew of weenies. Kneel Wall. Win Dominance. Has issues but is still fun to play.
