Hi folks. :)
This is the deck we built in Episode 3 of The Friendly Council, our new video series about deckbuilding. This is a new Friendly Open project, aimed at helping beginner and intermediate-level players build their own decks.
It is another episode that was recorded before the latest Restricted List came out, so we had to make some adjustments. As we discussed in the video, there are some alternatives available for Red Priest. Not being able to remove some of your opponent's threats is quite a big hit, but I think Fiery Followers is also a good card. It has the same stats, provides the Melisandre trigger, and it gets around The Withering Cold and Robert Baratheon. I think it has definitely survived the test of time and is still a good chud to include. Instead of a third copy, we went for an additional copy of Asshai Priestess. This has always been a good card in Blackwater Bay decks. It provides some additional kneel, often hitting quite a decent target, and of course it gives you an additional card for Blackwater Bay as well.
The other option you have is to replace The Annals of Castle Black with another plot. The event package still works without it, but you lose that one round where you have access to a lot of kneel effects from your discard pile. If you do not enjoy playing with such tight economy, you might want to consider adding a plot like Late Summer Feast instead. The chances of going second with that plot are not high, but at least you should always be able to marshal your most expensive cards, most notably Robert. If you do decide to replace Annals, you might also want to consider adding a copy of Citadel Archivist.
If Bara kneel looks interesting to you, check out the video below.
As always, any comments or suggestions are more than welcome. :)
