Just a deck of heavy hitters. Between Khal Drogo, Mirri Maz Duur, Ser Ilyn Payne, Ser Gregor Clegane, Crown of Gold, Dracarys! and Put to the Sword characters die often.
Letdowns: I used to run 3x Dracarys! and it normally just sat in my hand, good players would play around it. And with all the stark decks I've been playing it doesn't kill as often as I'd like. Also Daenerys Targaryen used to be in the deck but she took too much effort to maximize and at 7 I can run someone like the Mountain instead. Trading with the Pentoshi while it let me have excellent setup turns always let my opponent have an almost equal setup and Naval Superiority on the same turn could be game ending. I dislike it's opportunity cost and started running Marching Orders instead.
Pleasant Surprises: The ambush on Burned Men, The Hound and Widow's Wail in tandem with Tyrion Lannister could really cause swings my opponents weren't expecting. Funeral Pyre and Treachery have both been fantastic, anytime I can have card advantage and cancel effects in a game I take them. The Long Winter isn't a good early plot but once I have board presence it can lead to devastating swings, and it being a winter plot has helped with Stark.
I typically play Baratheon Fealty but this has been a blast to play and build. I used the decks of Hijacked, Sotiris, Potatoechip99, Krockel and Necrogoat as starting points for the deck. I'd welcome any advice or criticism from more experienced Targ and Lanni players. Thanks.
I have been toying with Targaryen as a reprieve from playing Greyjoy Crossing and have always come back to a Lion banner for Targ. This deck has been a blast to play as it's kill potential is incredible. There are too many ways to whittle your opponent's board down for them to have answers for them all. And if Stark drops Winterfell, play Long Winter and wreak havoc.
I'm looking forward to playing this more and would love to see it continue to do well! So far, I've not been victim to my terrible card draw luck...yet :p
