The idea behind this deck is pretty simple: prevent EVERY Military challenge.

When you have Brothel Madame, she'll lock your opponent out via Supporting the Faith.

Shadowblack Lane helps you find In the Name of Your King! to stop the Military challenges on the other turns but remember you need to have your house card standing to stop challenges with In the Name of Your King!.

Use Seen In Flames to take the cards that would disrupt you out of your opponents hand (bye-bye The Hand's Judgment and Treachery).

If you have Selyse Baratheon in play she's usually enough to secure you the Intrigue wins on the A Game of Thrones turn.

If your game goes to turn 7 Rebuilding will put In the Name of Your King! and Seen in Flames back in your deck and give you a chance to keep the soldiers at bay even longer.

Play this deck if you'll enjoy watching your opponents with a big Military focus draw The Seastone Chair and copies of Put to the Sword that they'll wait ages to use (if at all).

Hey Celric. GLad to see the deck built and ready. A few question tho, what does Joffrey for you ? As you Will prévent mil challenges, you'll probably face à lot of strengh and do you suppose a lot of lords or ladies are gonna die this way? Just wondering No house? I got 1 copy just for power challenge, Cos he's a beast. 3 copies of ITNOYK isnt that too much? And i was advised to put 3x Tyrion still dont know if that is for the best.. i care about economy of the deck Nice job anyways!

Why Joffrey?

Joffrey Baratheon is there for the synergy with Wildfire Assault and he'll discourage my opponent from killing off Lords/Ladies if The Hand's Judgment or Milk of the Poppy allow them to get MIL challenges or kill effects through.

Since the deck limits my opponents ability to kill characters via military challenges, Wildfire becomes a very useful way for them to cull the board. Not counting Joffrey I have 6 unique Lords/Ladies without renown (for a total of 11 cards). Since I've also decided to include Wildfire in my own plot deck, with Joffery out I have the option to offensively wildfire and kill 3 of them to grab 3 power in in the plot phase. So that's why I slotted him in over The Hound.

Ultimately, the Joffrey decision starts with the A Game of Thrones decision. That plot made me want to run Renly Baratheon for his INT icon and economy over Stannis Baratheon. If I were to drop the INT focused plot and run 2-3 of Stannis "the Manis" (as I often hear him called), the bouncing to hand of The Hound would seem more valuable to me as I don't have to select him to stand.

Why not 3x Tyrion?

Tyrion is a fantastic card and is probably most versatile 5 cost character in the game. In my opinion, most of the Banner to the Lion decks I see are built around exploiting some synergy with Tyrion in a new house. This deck is not "about" Tyrion in that way so I didn't feel the need for 3.

Since many opponents tend to prioritize him for blanking and kill effects, I didn't want to over-invest in him. My events only cost 1 gold, so I'm not desperate for his economy. That makes him a nice-to-have yet non-essential piece of this deck in my mind.
