First attempt at building a deck - introduced by a friend, now I have 2 core sets and trying to get someone more local to me interested which is the purpose of this and the Stark/Greyjoy deck.

Comments encouraged, never played a CCG\LCG before so if I have made any rookie errors guilty as charged! Please let me know what you think, positive and negative, could do with the help :)

Nice deck! I'm no expert but I have a couple of suggestions:

You usually want to have some kinda of reset to let you back into the game, if your opponent has established board position. Varys is an option but I suggest Wildfire Assault as it provides a win condition with Joffrey Baratheon near the end of the game as well. I would sub out Taxation or Winds of Winter for it.

I would reduce Left and Right to one copy each. Having unique chud characters lead to dead draws later in the game. I think Burned Men would be a solid replacement for those card slots. Unstealthable military blockers are great against Greyjoy.

I would also replace Wildling Horde with The Knight of Flowers, more renown is always good and as a lord, he'll work with A Noble Cause.

Finally, I think you have a lot of big characters in your deck along with Margery to pump them up further so Put to the Sword is possibly a better fit than Syrio's Training.

Those are only my suggestions! Do what works for you. I've had more success playing "bad" cards that no one expects than "good" cards that everyone is planning around.

Hi @Wrecko! Thanks for the tips. Plots were definitely where I was most unsure. Wildfire Assault, d'oh! I actually read about this a while ago, but didn't occur to me at all for some reason. Definitely in. Taxation I liked for the fact I have 9 limited locations but The Winds of Winter is great for pressing home the advantage, looking to combo it with Cersei Lannister and possibly also Olenna's Informant and Seal of the Hand to rinse intrigue :D

In fact 9 seems like a bit too many, so I've removed one of each of the 3. I think you're right about Left and Right too, I only had them in there to make up the tyrell numbers and with a good economy I should take one of their more expensive options. I've actually gone for Randyll Tarly because he has renown and lord like The Knight of Flowers but his reaction can be triggered by Margaery Tyrell, and I can add Heartsbane and Growing Strong to really try and push this too.

I've kept Syrio's Training, simply because I have a scary low number of sword icons and if I can attach this to Tyrion Lannister, Cersei Lannister or Littlefinger at least i'm not so vulnerable. I also probably wont be going for a military focus and more importantly both of my Put to the Sword cards are in the Stark deck I made!

I've also now included a copy each of The Queen's Assassin and Rattleshirt's Raiders for their useful abilities. Particularly Rattleshirts, as I otherwise have nothing to combat Milk of the Poppy for instance.
