The idea of the deck is a bit basic. Get Robb out and pump him up with a lot of loyals. Use Donella reduction to help you with that. As a side plan, get Catelyn out and get angry as your people die. Use Riverrun to increase power on Minstrel/Catelyn/Blackfish. Add a lot of renown on top of it and you got a somewhat solid plan :)

Report

Game 1 : Win vs Targ Fealty (Jonathan)

First time I played against him as he is a player that started playing recently. He got Dany out, I got Winterfell out so that cancelled each other. I don't remember the specifics of the game but I had Robb Eddy and Cat out (and some more) and he had Drogo Dany and a bunch of dragons/Unsullied. I was able to manage the Dracarys with Bran and Winterfell and had more control over the MIL challenges with King Robb. He did do some mistake like allowing me to trigger some renown with unnecessary challenges, but overall it was a good challenge. I learned afterward that he only has the core cards and Road to Winterfell for expansions too!

Game 2 : Win vs Lannister Crossing (Alex)

Not remembering much of the setup but I had Donella. Alex asked me if she's been working for me. I told him we'll find out as it's the first time I see her! And she did hit every turn! Most of his game was spent trying to unmilk Tyrion (which I did on turn 1). I used Robb to remove his Rattleshirt Raiders from his challenge, then another turn I used Winterfell to prevent the reaction. Eventually he played a Confiscation but it was too late at that point. He had a Brothel Madame who saw a lot of Stark action as I paid her every turn ;) My big guys we're simply bigger than his (There was no Gregor this game) and I was able to block his stuff. Winter Festival sealed the deal iirc.

Game 3 : Win vs Night's Watch of Winter (Guillaume)

Me and Guillaume we're the only 2-0 at that point, and he just defeated my girlfriend so I was on an avenging mission! I did hear about his deck a bit so I knew what to expect. He setup a duped White Tree, Waymar and a Raven. I had the Blackfish and Riverrun. I was expecting a Marched but knew he likes to open with Wraith so I went with Trading. He did open with Wraith so I had to spend as much cards as I could. I played Robb, Needle on the Blackfish and maybe a reducer, not sure. He didn't have much but was able to ambush Arry for some intrigue which just helped me decide on what 2 cards I'd have to keep. The turning point of the game was the 2nd plot. He played Snowed Under and I went with A Time for Wolves to bring in Summer and a dead reducer. We had to roll a die to see who went first. I won and let him go first so he'd wouldn't have my stolen gold to marshal. This was crucial as he only played Varys. I played Ice to prevent the wipe, otherwise I probably wouldn't have been able to recover from that. If he had been able to steal one gold, he could've played Craven on Robb and prevent the Ice. After that he had an empty board and couldn't come back.

Game 4 : Win vs Targ of Summer (Phillipe)

This was the third time I faced Phil and so far he always destroyed me. I was hoping to change that with my perfect record! He opened with Rakharo with a Silver Steed and a reducer iirc and I had Robb and a reducer. I expected a Summer Harvest so I decided to gamble a Winds of Winter since I already had a good MIL presence. He did play Harvest and got 5 gold. He marshalled a bunch of dragons and reducers. I was able to marshal some low cost characters and kept 2 gold to PttS his Rakharo. I eventually got Winterfell out but forgot to trigger it during his last challenge because he only had 1 gold left and he PttT'd it. Lesson learned, 1 gold is still scary in a MIL challenge! It was a close game, at the beginning of the last round I was leading 13 to 12. I played Winter Festival and focused on blocking everything. On that day, the people of the North rejoiced as they went undefeated and had a pretty happy festival :D

Conclusions

The MVP of the day was really King Robb. I was lucky to see him every game. He was really solid and helped push and repel a lot of challenges, allowing me to use Put to the Sword, preventing Rattleshirts and managing my opponent's renown. I know that core Robb can stand your whole lineup, but I don't like how he can be played around. Also, people are more aware of core Robb so having the King version is usually a nice surprise.

I only had Donella in one game, but her loyal reduction got used every turn which really helped me keep up with the Lannister's gold income.

For the plots, A time for Wolves and Winter Festival made a lot of work. Grabbing Summer and getting back a reducer/Bran/Arya can really help you bring your board back up, or push through the opponent's choke. Winter Festival was just solid and hit every game.

I wish I had a bit more attachment control because I do fear facing Martell. With Nymeria and Imprisoned, they can render Robb useless (or just plain kill him with Tears) and my intrigue presence is usually not strong enough to compete with theirs. I'll try to make room for a second Arya's gift. I also expect Craven to make an impact on the meta so a second Rattleshirt could also be nice to have.

Good deck! I've been tinkering with a King Robb deck for a bit and I like the spread you've got with this. How did King Robb's Host work out for you?

Smirnoffico 11

I don't think you can bring Arya back with Summer, do you?

Ryaxs 154

SerArthur : The host was great as it boosts Robb because it's loyal. Its ability to move power around is really nice. I had to use it mostly in defense and move power to chuds or anything that could be killed by Grey Wind. Also, it's a huge body so that helps, but as I said it would be vulnerable to Martell since if you remove their MIL icon, they're really not that great anymore. Then again, if they focus on the host, they're not focusing on the rest of your stuff. Depends on the games I guess :D

Smirnoffico : Of course, she has a printed STR of 2 or lower.

But did you ID into the cut?

Ryaxs 154

BillyDooku : That's illegal and you know it! SHAME! SHAME!

Is the WotN Catelyn your choice because of Riverrun? I think that the core one would save you from most Martell shenanigans, and probably would allow you to skip the attachment control as you mention. I'd definitely go with two Arya's gifts because Poppies, and Martel conditions, hurt in such huge investments.

Lollll

HidaHayabusa : Maybe i'll try her sometime. She shuts down a lot of stuff for sure, but I like the greedy aspect of gaining power as your characters die. Core Cat is probably the better choice, but i'll see how far I can go with Fat Cat :P

Nice deck and interesting build!

I have been playing two Little Bird's in my Stark decks which helps a lot against Tears of Lys and Mirri Maz Duur but also worry about the Martell negative attachments matchup. My last OCTGN game testing a Fat Cat / Tully Rush was against Martell / Kraken using a lot of the negative attachments - although I won, I agree if you are worried about icon removal - Arya's Gift have worked well for me as well in the past. I would cut Lady and Ward.

Also do you think 2 Riverrun's is worth it? Seeing a lot of guys run 1 only...I my testing so far with a Fat Cat Rush (core Robb Stark (Core), but 2 Superior Claim), I have never drawn it, so curious how people feel about copies.

I also play close to 40 characters for the sacrifice theme - how do you feel about your character count? I guess with King Rob you put enough military pressure on them, that you take a lot of yourself - I think you might be on to something here in terms of core Rob vs King Rob even in the context of a rushy built...Although there is not much that can core Rob, Blackfish and Fast Eddie standing after defending/attacking and gaining renown again...

Ryaxs 154

I'm not going too deep on the sacrifice theme so I feel the character count is alright. Cat is mostly there to profit on your own deaths/Bran/Jory and to be a big INT body.

I am testing with replacing ward with Nymeria and a copy of Riverrun with Arya's Gift. I like the idea of having Intimidate on King Robb since you can pop someone out of the challenge, and potentially kneel him back (Or whatever dangerous character are on the other side). If I'm lucky and pull out a 2nd Intimidate in one turn, I'm going to be happy :)

Also, if I already drew or played Summer, I want another nice target to fetch with A Time for Wolves, and Nymeria seems to be the right fit for now. Lady is nice too, but it's not capitalizing on the 3 gold limitation of the effect as much as it could.

Cool, makes sense, I missed A Time For Wolves in your plot deck. Nymeria on Robb Stark (AtSK) definitely sounds worth testing.

I'm also considering switching Winds of Winter for a Song of Summer. I have a hard time finding a good opening plot and I'm really scared of opening with Trading.

I try to keep Summer Harvest in mind so in that regard Winds of Winter is good because it only gives them 5 gold. Same thing for goes Calling the Banners. You don't give them too much gold, and you get about the same number or more.
