I’ve been playing this deck a lot lately and this weekend I took 1st at our local game store’s first 3-Core 2.0 tournament (11/22/15). 4 rounds of Swiss, cut to Top 4. I went 5-1 on the day. Everyone there were real fun to play against and I’m looking forward to more events as our NJ scene is slowly but surely growing.

Wins vs bara fealty, Martell/stag, Targ/lion and a loss to NW/Wolf in the Swiss. Beat GJ/Lion in the top 4 and won the rematch against NW/Wolf at the final table.

Nothing really groundbreaking here. I really like the added control and synergies Martell brings to Targ. Besides plenty of non-uniques to help flood the board, Dornish Paramour can pull someone in for Dracarys!, and with Syrio’s Training she can pull almost all problem characters in to not only set up the burn but deny the opponents use of it.

Maester Caleotte and Confinement can help ready a Tears of Lys or Plaza of Punishment or just prevent a character from having a big turn - asha is my favorite (Sorry, Eric).

Plots are pretty standard. I have tried a few plots like power behind the throne, filthy and counting coppers. But wanted to focus on removal so I got the idea of 2x Marched from a WhiteBook episode. That made sense because a lot of the time their board would be down to 1-2 anyway, and with x3 Viserys I can now remove a character + a milk in one plot, potentially twice. I’ve mostly had no problem cutting confiscation and the initiative on Marched is nice.

As for taking the black, maybe I’d try finding room for x2 Support of the People to sneak a plaza in and trigger it, or dig for economy.

Dawn Is my first candidate to get cut to make room for that. It was a last minute add the morning of. I didn’t see it once all day. Not in a set up hand, a mulligan, or even while looking through the top 10 for Summons. For all I know that card jumped out of the deck because it knew it shouldn’t be in there.

Oh, and sorry for the cliché witty deck name

I like the deck and awesome tourney report. Thanks for sharing!

Didn’t miss Wildfire at all?

@robstjohn In most games my board is usually so big because of my character count that I’d hate to flip into my own wildfire and it’s nice to pressure them into using theirs and be carefree after that.

I added a 2nd Varys to help though. In my top 4 against GJ/Lanni I had gotten off to a slower start and he had some good characters out including Asha, Aeron, Joffrey and a couple shipwrights. I varys’d him turn 2 and was able to throw out 3 dudes to his 1 the next turn and then turn it around from there.

@linkingverbsplaza is unique and you can tutor for it with Support of the People so that might be best as your other cut
