Changelog:

-1 The Winds of Winter

+1 Rebuilding

A copy of The Winds of Winter was replaced by Rebuilding in order to be able to recycle core elements of the deck mechanics, and be able to play them again. (eg. Dracarys! , Tears of Lys etc) Also 2 more gold is pretty useful since the deck’s income is not the best. Thanks to @dydra for the suggestion!

Deck philosophy:

This deck is aiming to control the opponent’s board via many removal effects combos and double (or more claims), while prioritizing on and challenges.

The Targaryen part of the deck is pretty standard, which means it includes, and revolves around Daenerys Targaryen and her Dragons. The Martel banner is there to add more removal and control to an already strong house.

Core mechanics [Removal] Breakdown:

Besides the obvious at this point Dracarys!, this deck packs a few more tricks and combos that can surprise and devastate your opponent at the same time.

1) Forced Dracarys!: More experienced players will try to play around the possibility of Dracarys!. That’s where Dornish Paramour comes into play. It’s a great card for pulling an opponent’s important character with icon into Dracarys! range.

2) Tears of Lys plays : As you probably have noticed, the deck includes 3 copies of Tears of Lys. That’s because the deck has a lot of icon presence, but it also takes poisoning to a new level by the icon removal method. Maester Caleotte and Confinement are there to ensure that annoying characters will be able to get poisoned after you successfully remove their icon.

3) Empowered Challenges: Sunspear can be used to raise the claim value of any challenge. Considering the amount of removal possible by the other mechanics of the deck, it should be fairly easy to pull off a double kill, or even a triple kill if The Winds of Winter is active.

** Plot deck reasoning :**

The plot deck is something i am currently thinking about. I’m not yet 100% sure it’s ideal, but here is the reasoning behind my choices:

1) A Noble Cause: This card, in my opinion is mandatory in low income decks like this. Makes Daenerys Targaryen , Khal Drogo and Littlefinger much easier to drop, while having some spare gold to play your events or other cards.

2) Calm Over Westeros: This is a “safety net” plot. It’s mainly included because it’s possible to turn a bad setup into a more even ground by preventing you opponent to kill anything via claim, thus weaken your already inferior board. Also it has a relatively high income.

3) Counting Coppers: This card pretty decent when it comes to houses that suffer from draw mechanics, like the Targaryen house. The drawback is that it has a pretty low income, making it hard to play your strongest cards (or impossible if you have no other passive economy cards on board). But drawing into Dracarys!, Put to the Sword, Tears of Lys or Confinement can turn the tide of the game.

4) Marched to the Wall : This plot is a heavy punishing opener at round 1, if the opponent is unlucky enough to be forced to setup just one big costly character. Also the synergy with Viserys Targaryen is pretty nice. Another great play is to open this when the opponent has 3 or less characters and you have 3 or more characters on board, and he uses the Wildfire Assault plot. Marched to the Wall wins the initiative, therefore you can choose to go first so a character would be discarded first (opponent now left with 2 characters, and you discard something that otherwise would be killed by the wildfire). Afterwards Wildfire Assault takes effect, ending up having an advantage of 1 more character on board against your opponent.

5) Wildfire Assault: I think this card is mandatory in almost any deck, because its the closest thing of equalizing the game. Also , Viserys Targaryen can trigger from this too.

6&7) The Winds of Winter: Low income plots but 2x claims on any challenges you can pull off. Considering the amount of removal this deck has, The Winds of Winter can be pretty devastating on challenges, or can be used to drain opponent’s hand by challenges. Or, of course, seal the deal by rushing power via Challenges.

Thanks for reading! This deck is a pretty new idea, which probably has room for improvement, so i would appreciate feedback and opinions from you guys.
