Diomedes 3354
This deck has been a really great success for me. There are two strategies:
- Offensive use of Valar Morghulis while saving your own guys and kneeling opponent's saved characters.
- Power rush:
- challenges (28/32 have a icon, 3x stealth, supported by The Red Keep, Street of the Sisters, and Superior Claim.
- Dominance (The Iron Throne, 3x Fiery Followers)
- Renown (Ser Barristan, Victarion, Stannis with Lightbringer)
Ser Barristan Selmy (TS) is the key character in this deck. He is a strong body for , he's got renown and he can save guys. He's got one weakness though: targeted kill effects on himself. That's where the Banner of the Kraken can help out with its Iron Mines.
R'hllor kneel and Naval Superiority stall the opponent until you have all your pieces in place. Naval currently has a hit rate close to 100 percent, it's just brutal against Trading with the Pentoshi, which is a pretty common plot. Of course you don't open with it against Winter or Summer decks.
offers two great guys to support kneel, save and power rush: Victarion Greyjoy and Aeron Damphair (TIMC).
Core Stannis and Aeron Damphair make Ser Barristan Selmy (TS) shine on Valar Morghulis turns:
- You can keep him knelt with Stannis Baratheon (Core).
- You can kneel him with Aeron Damphair (TIMC) after you save him.
- You can even combine these two to use Ser Barristan to save 2 of your Lords and Ladies.
Plots:
- Valar Morghulis of course.
- Trading with the Pentoshi and Calling the Banners provide some heavily needed economy.
- Here to Serve against attachments.
- Summons to get your Selmy or Melisandre.
- Filthy Accusations to keep the kneeling going.
- Naval Superiority Time for this plot to come back!

I also forgot: If your deck has Barristan as a feature, I'd run Even-Handed Justice - it will kneel him to ready his ability, even if he has been stealthed or bypassed by . |
Thanks for your comments! Even-Handed Justice is a great idea, even though it's costly. Maybe I can do without 1x Risen from the Sea. I also replaced Littlefinger with another reducer to have more low-cost cards. The Jumper decks are quite unreliable in my opinion. Nightmares, Seen In Flames or even a Even-Handed Justice on a character put into play with Harrenhal (FFH) easily disrupt these decks. Without any Asshai Priestesses I think I have too few targets and for Ruby of R'hllor in this deck. |
Good Deck build ;)
I found that, with the rise of Lannister "Jumper" decks, the Ruby of R'hllor along with Seen In Flames will trash their hand. It is also another R'hllor card for the Mel trigger.
