8Regents2025Stark 1

Hello guys,

this is Sara. I built two very similar versions of this deck for this tournament, both were played by Sonchek.

I had fun playing A Mummer's Farce before, but it can be very vulnerable to The First Snow of Winter, so we decided to use this agenda for and weeks, in match ups we weren't expecting to see this plot.

In including out of faction characters can be hard and I played this agenda before using only "Florian and Jonquil" to make in faction Fools out of the very efficient 3- and 2-costers. Ideal targets are Sansa Stark (WotN) and Arya Stark (Core), but it's also great with Osha as you can stand her one extra time each round to get the agenda trigger.

With Dubious Loyalties being released I wanted to build around that, so I gave up on the only idea and also included Shagwell to spread around the stealth and renown, along with some of the other standard includes in Mummers decks.

It shares many similarities with The Lord of the Crossing, including the Winter Festival opening which has no real downside in such a low curve deck and will allow you to win initiative against the most common openers and go second on the first round. After that if you have already found a copy of Dubious Loyalties the idea is to play one of the plots that blocks its downside. First version included two Rationings, in the second one was replaced by The King in the North (R). Against we also ran Weapons at the Door which can help you to get rid of the attachment if it becomes a problem, but also gives you a round without Cravens which can be enough to close. For Martell we opted for A Time For Wolves and Grey Wind (FtR) instead.

I was conflicted on including Ser Dontos Hollard. While a really helpful addition for lessening pressure and for the agenda draw, he has the No attachments except Weapon keyword that you ideally don't want, mostly because it makes Florian and Jonquil fall off. But I decided to keep him as you can use this keyword to lose the attachment if needed and of course both of the factions this deck was build for have some annoying negative attachments that might be more important to get rid of. But it's something that is good to keep in mind when choosing who to bestow the gold on.

Another card that is great but you need to be careful with is I Am No One (R). It will take away the Fool trait from the character so you have to keep track of where the keywords are coming from when choosing the target.

The first game in the 8 Regents was recorded. You can watch it here: 8 RoW 2025 - Game 4.5

Second game was against The Lord of the Crossing: A knights deck, very similar to what we expected and practiced against. We get really close second round with 13 power and 3 renown characters in play, but in the third round opponent has A Tourney for the King and a miscalculation on our side allows for Martell to get to 15 power before we can get our turn.

In the end I was pretty happy with this deck, it was (for the most part ^^) played really well by Sonchek and I also had a lot of fun playing it in some casual games.
