Trying out the new card from Wolves of the North and going more for the rush/sacrifice theme than "murder" template.
This to my mind requires enough low cost characters to die/sacrifice effects and in general enough to maintain decent board position. So 38 is probably the minimum.
Need a lot more refining from play testing.
So far in general:
(1) Eddard Stark is great if out early, but you need to protect him and have enough useful other characters to really benefit (that you also want to protect).
(2) Catelyn Stark is a lot of fun. I seldom ended up with less than at least 4 power on her. You could potentially wildfire for the win and there are some nice little small combos with her ability.
(3) I have not seen The Blackfish a lot in about 6 games and could never trigger his 4 power ability.
(4) Plots: I think there are a lot of options here and still a fair amount of tweaking needed based on play testing. Originally went all out winter plots, but decided to settle on more conservative / tested plots. I have founded I need Wildfire Assault against Wall decks and against mirror match if I cannot get mil/pwr challenges through. But, I would say the flexible slots are: Wildfire Assault, Marching Orders and Fallen from Favor.
(5) Heavy at 6 cost. Hence the high economy plots. I have not really ever had too much trouble playing them, but a opening hand or draws giving you all the high costers can be bad. Hence I have reduced the copies and added more cheaper characters.
(6) Attachments. Not sure about the right balance here...so few slots really with the high character count. This could open up if you drop Catelyn Stark and go lighter on the sacrifice theme. Frozen Solid is very nice and you can add Lady and the extra Ice back in the attachment package.
(7) Events. Again, I am trying to play here with some of the new themes than with the conventional stark build stuff. That means giving Arya's Gift and As Hard as Winter a go. Arya's Gift is the Milk of the Poppy control here and it has worked nicely - but it is thin. Confiscation is definitely an option.
(8) Overall card choice here is influenced by trying out the sacrifice theme and all the new stuff. There is definitely room to go lighter on this by dropping Arya Stark and Catelyn Stark or one of them (especially Arya Stark), for the core versions. For now I have put Arya Stark in mostly for the intrigue icons and to see if the kill is ever worth it on some impact 3 costers.
Feel free to add and make suggestions. I am certainly no deck building smith and just want some feedback on people trying to make some of the new themes (sacrifice) and characters work. So far I have mostly seen dire wolves and traditional builds with Blackfish, Ned, Osha, Jory etc thrown in.
