First major update to this deck. The goal is to make it difficult for the opposing player to attack in a meaningful way. Get The Wall and/or The Iron Throne out and defend your way to victory!

The attachment shenanigans should be self-explanatory. Between those, Maester Cressen, Dolorous Edd, and Nymeria Sand, you should be able to weaken opposing characters to suit your board state.

Keep an eye out for the dream team of Arianne Martell and Arry. If you get to a comfortable board state, you can start swapping between them for card draw and multiple challenges off Arry. It is Pretty Good.

Updates:

  • Added Rattleshirt's Raiders to help deal with enemy Milk of the Poppy.
  • Dropped Old Bear Mormont entirely. I often found him just sitting in my hand; I was able to defend without him. More than once I discarded him for gold to use on other characters with Old Forest Hunters.
  • Reduced Maester Aemon to a one-of. Opponents don't get to attack much after the first couple of rounds. I either need him early (three-of) or he doesn't matter much.
  • Removed Ser Alliser Thorne I have enough Military, and he doesn't help Martell characters. I save my faction kneel for Dolorous Edd most rounds.
  • Added Varys. In theory, his board clear will hurt opponents more than me, as the only renown character in the deck are the two Knights of the Sun. I think he'll only matter rarely, but when he does, he could seal the deal. Not sold on him.
  • Dropped Fortified Position in favor of Calm Over Westeros. Every time I've lost, it's because the other guy weakens my side of the board with kills before I get a chance to neuter their characters with attachments. -Dropped Rebuilding in favor of Winter Festival. Five gold, two claim, and the potential for two free power? Sign me up. I only used Rebuilding to get Craven back out. Many games, it was literally the last plot I flipped because I didn't have anything I wanted to shuffle back into the deck.
