"The arms of House Martell display the sun and spear, the Dornishman’s two favored weapons, but of the two, the sun is the more deadly." - Daeron I Targaryen

Game Plan

The ultimate game plan is to build up econ and prevent them from succeeding with board resets, hand discards and Vengeance for Elia. With enough econ, you should win the late game.

Setup

Generally, a good setup would be an econ, such as Dornish Fiefdom as well as 2+ characters, with one or more being non-unique. Eg. Starting Dornish Fiefdom, Myrcella Baratheon and Bastard Daughter is generally a good way to start.

Plots

If they have a single unique character setup, you'd want to strongly consider Marched to the Wall if the tradeoff is worth it. Otherwise you can go Varys's Riddle if you can predict their plot start. If they have stronger board presence than you, an option is to pull out The Long Plan and allow yourself a good gold setup for next round. You can then follow up with either a wealthy Counting Coppers or if they REALLY have their board presence in check, Valar Morghulis.

For the following rounds you just want to play it as it goes, saving Trade Routes for a late-game money spending round followed up by Retaliation for the win.

Side note: Holding onto your gold for challenges phase isnt a bad idea if you have lots of ambush in your hand.

Useful Combinations

  1. Have Flea Bottom in play as well as any of the many 'when entering play' characters (eg. Areo Hotah). Either Varys all or Marched to the Wall one of these characters to have them available for flea bottom.

  2. Initiate any challenge with The Red Viper (OR). After defenders are declared use Dornish Spy and/or Nymeria Sand to nullify any 2 Icon defender's STR.

  3. Place Venomous Blade on any character youre planning to either pull out of play (eg. Arianne Martell) or kill/discard (eg. Bastard Daughter) and keep bouncing the attachment in and out of play for maximum effectiveness.

  4. Have someone like Areo Hotah in discard pile and prepare to bounce him harder than a basketball. Flea Bottom him into play then Orphan of the Greenblood him to your hand. If you have enough gold (or The Bastard of Godsgrace/Arianne Martell) ambush him in. Repeat this as many times as you can. Make sure he ends up in your hand otherwise Flea Bottom will remove him. The final Orphan bestow or The Iron Bank Will Have Its Due can help with this.

This deck is a constant work in progress as new chapter packs are released and metas are switched. Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions or questions! Id love to talk about it :)

Really like this deck. What do you think about adding The Water Gardens?

@MartozarThanks! I have considered adding it, however I feel The Bastard of Godsgrace serves well enough to help with ambush/playing costs. Could slip in a copy, wouldnt harm the deck :)
